The National Defense Council
Foundation does not accept government money.
|
- The National
Defense Council Foundation is dedicated to the preservation
of American national security interests and furthering the benefits
of democracy throughout the world. We are action-oriented. That
is, we visit conflict sites personally to bring back first-hand
investigative accounts for the American public and our lawmakers.
- In
understanding the NDCF's value, you only have to look at one
of our nearly 120 academic studies on foreign affairs, national
security, and industrial base issues. NDCF's reports are used
as authoritative sources in Congressional hearings, by the media,
and within federal agencies. In one instance, an NDCF study
stopped a congressional boondoggle saving taxpayers $1.3 billion.
An NDCF action program established one of DoD's first alternative
fuel vehicle programs -- at no expense to the taxpayer.
- NDCF's reports on drug activity
in Peru and Colombia provided authoritative documentation of
the link between the Drug Lords and insurgent movements. NDCF's
Refugee Relief Project has taken medical supplies valued at
30 times our combined operating budget for the past four years
into high-risk combat areas around the world. As an NDCF
supporter, you get your money's worth
|
| In
fact, individuals account for 70% of the NDCF's annual operating
budget, while private corporate donations account for the remaining
30%. A breakdown of our expenses shows that fundraising costs consume
9% of our income, overhead costs account for 11%, and our action-oriented
program costs utilize the bulk, 80%, of our annual donations. We
accept donations in any amount... as little as $5, $10, or $15 can
help. |
"I
want you to know that I have great respect for you. Your 'unconventional'
thoughts and observations made me stop and think about what
I was going to do, or probably more importantly, how I was doing
it. It was good to hear from someone without bureaucratic
blinders who has a sense for the big picture. I couldn't
have made the progress in El Salvador without your energetic
programs."
-- A Former US Military
Group Commander, El Salvador
